You think Walter Van Beirendonck's FW10 hats are big, but Suleiman the Magnificent had the biggest hat in history since 1494...

Apparently they like to ride horses in their big hats too...

Say hi to Lin

This is Lin on 6/4/2002, another regular day for this Norwegian lady...

Her outfit was then transferred onto a small model...

Which is then transferred onto clothes...

Thanks to the creative mind of Siv Støldal, Lin's mood and physical expression through her clothes was transferred to whoever wears it around the world.
I am not sure if I would wear a jacket with a lady's face on the hood, but this project's spirit in transferring people and their emotion to clothes is very inspirational.

At a time when fashion was all about serious tailoring and traditional cuts, Walter's statement suggests a completely new thinking of associating fashion with humor and satire. Up to his most recent collection, we can still see the continuity and consistency of his 1988 quote in his designs.

Visionaries like Walter were more forward thinking in the 80s than most avant-gardists today.
