I really like LA, the weather, driving...but I recently decided to move to China.
Friends' opinions are mixed. Some say it's growing while others think that the potential is overstated, especially for more progressive designs...I guess I will find out.

Hey Ritchie. I'm glad to find your blog. I have heard about you as we have some mutual friends on facebook, and I love what you did with Project White T-shirt. I was really glad to find your blog to see another straight guy's perspective on avant-garde/alternative style.Nothing against the other blogs, but I've found it hard to find blogs that are relatable to me being a straight guy but still really into unique fashion.
ReplyDeleteYou may have seen my link on Space15twenty's site, but if not, you should check out my blog! I am an illustrator and my work is based on street fashion from around the world, but especially Tokyo. I love to make my characters wearing things that I'm inspired by on the streets as well as some of my own ideas. Sorry for such a long post. Its nice to meet you.

It's hard to say because every place in China is different. I live in a big city, but not Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong...so it's developing here but hard to say when or IF fashion/art/alternative styles will ever come here and to what degree things will progress. I don't really believe mainland has much style yet (aside from HK, to me Beijing and Shanghai do a little, but meh...); after traveling and living in East Asia for the last few years, mainland is definitely the least interesting in this aspect. We can "hope" but if it doesn't happen soon, I'm definitely moving haha. Good luck.
